Ice Climbing from Rovaniemi
Join us for an unforgettable ice climbing experience in the heart of Finnish Lapland as we explore the breathtaking Korouma Canyon. This unique natural gorge is one of the most iconic sights in Finland and is widely regarded as the best destination for ice climbing in the country — a perfect blend of wilderness, challenge, and icy beauty. You’ll see four different waterfalls, each unique in its own way.
Whether you’re a first-timer or an experienced climber, our certified guides will tailor the day to your skill level, ensuring both safety and excitement. You’ll learn how to use ice axes and crampons, how to belay, use professional climbing gear, and ascend stunning ice walls sculpted by Arctic winters.
Your adventure begins with meeting your guide. Korouma Canyon is located about 1.5 hours’ drive from Rovaniemi. From there, we’ll take a 30-minute hike to reach the climbing site. Upon arrival, your guide will give a safety briefing and climbing instructions. The ice climbing session lasts approximately three hours, with plenty of breaks to rest, enjoy hot drinks, and soak in the peaceful silence of the surrounding wilderness. You’ll receive personalized guidance throughout the day, allowing you to climb the frozen waterfalls at your own pace. Once the climbing is finished, we’ll begin our return journey via a different trail, giving you the chance to experience more of the canyon’s stunning landscape. Along the way, we’ll stop to build a fire, grill sausages, and enjoy warm drinks. Afterward, we’ll drive back to Rovaniemi.

About us
We started this journey with a simple philosophy: bring back the small, meaningful touches of travel that we love to share when family or friends visit. Keep it real, take your time to enjoy the experience, and give your best to every moment – beautiful places, healthy time outdoors, learning about nature, and connecting with the Lappish lifestyle.
We are two travel enthusiasts who turned our passion into a company after decades of working in tourism and hospitality, both in Lapland and beyond.
Patrik
Patrik began his career as a guide in Lapland before moving into tour operations, gaining extensive experience in both luxury travel and large-scale tours. He has seen the best of both worlds and wants to give guests the best experience possible – without overcharging or rushing anyone like a herd, so every moment can be truly enjoyed.
Martin
Martin knew from his teens that his work would be outdoors and full of adrenaline. He started young as a guide, leading adventures from mountaineering and climbing to canyoning and rafting. A few years ago, he founded a company in Slovenia for canyoning and rafting, and after spending several winters in Lapland, it became his second home.
