Lappish Day - Ice Fishing & Snowshoeing

Join us for a 6-hour adventure that begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Rovaniemi and takes you into the heart of Lapland’s wilderness. This small-group experience offers a perfect balance of activity and relaxation, allowing you to see how locals spend their free time with family and friends while enjoying the calm and beauty of Arctic nature.

Your guide will look after you, share stories about Lapland’s nature, and ensure you feel right at home throughout the day. You’ll experience traditional ice fishing, a scenic snowshoe walk, and a tranquil exploration of the untouched wilderness—all at a relaxed, unhurried pace.

Your adventure starts as you meet your guide. If you need extra warmth, high-quality winter clothing is available for a small additional fee—just let us know in advance by email. During the drive, your guide will explain the plan for the day, where we are going, and what activities to expect.

After a short drive of about 40 km, we’ll arrive at a peaceful lake. Your guide will lead you on a short walk to the ice, where you’ll receive a brief safety introduction before discovering the wonders of traditional ice fishing. Warm up with hot drinks prepared over an open fire as you relax in the serene surroundings.

The Highlight of Your Day – A 3-Course Lappish Lunch

More than just a meal, this is a true Arctic dining experience set in the middle of nature. Gather around the open fire as your guide prepares a carefully crafted 3-course lunch, combining local flavors with the warmth of outdoor cooking.

Begin with a comforting starter to awaken your appetite, followed by a main course cooked over the fire, rich in traditional Lappish flavors. Finally, enjoy a local dessert, served in the quiet stillness of the wilderness. (Vegetarian options are available.)

This moment is about slowing down—sharing food, stories, and the peaceful atmosphere of Lapland. It’s often the part of the day our guests remember the most.

After lunch, your guide will take you on a peaceful snowshoe walk through the beautiful wilderness. Along the way, you’ll continue to enjoy snacks and hot drinks, allowing you to fully relax and take in the silence and beauty of the Arctic landscape.

We continue this combination of activity, relaxation, and exploration until the six-hour adventure comes to an end, after which we’ll return you safely to your accommodation.
