Taste of Lapland: Riisitunturi Snowshoe Tour with 3-Course Open Fire Lunch

What’s Included?

• Guiding: an experienced Arctic guide throughout the day.
• Activity: approximately 5 km of guided snowshoeing in Riisitunturi National Park.
• Equipment: snowshoe rental.
• Food: a three-course Lappish lunch cooked over an open fire, including a starter, main course and dessert.
• Drinks: hot drinks with lunch.
• Transport: minivan transportation between Rovaniemi and Riisitunturi National Park.
• Pick-up and drop-off: from accommodation less than 15 km from Rovaniemi city centre.
• Small groups: a friendly, personal atmosphere.
• Fees: all taxes, fees and handling charges.

A private option is available on request.

Not Included

• Winter overalls and boots: available to rent for €10 per person.
• Additional transfer charges: for accommodation 15 km or more from Rovaniemi city centre.

Age & Participation

• Suitable for children aged eight and older.
• Children under eight cannot participate due to safety and comfort considerations, including cold temperatures.
• Child rates apply to children aged 8–11, accompanied by at least one paying adult.
• Child rates are available only when the minimum of two paying adult participants is met.

Fitness & Suitability

• The tour includes approximately 5 km of snowshoeing through forests and fell terrain.
• Be prepared for walking in snow and spending extended periods outdoors.
• The activity is not recommended for participants with heart conditions or other serious medical concerns.
• Transfers take approximately 2.5 hours each way, so please allow a full day for the experience.

Group Size & Departures

• A minimum of two paying adult participants is required for the tour to operate.
• Solo travellers are welcome to join a departing trip at the standard price.
• A private experience can be requested separately.

Snow Giants & Seasonal Scenery

• The appearance of the snow-covered trees depends on snowfall, temperature and wind.
• In autumn and early winter, the snow giants may not yet have formed, and trees may have little or no snow covering.
• Snow formations change throughout winter and cannot be guaranteed on a particular date.
• Views and trail conditions vary with the weather. Snowshoe use depends on sufficient snow cover.

Clothing & What to Bring

• Warm clothing suitable for extended periods outdoors in Arctic conditions.
• Sturdy winter footwear.
• An extra bottle of water.
• Winter overalls and boots can be rented for €10 per person.

Weather & Conditions

• The activity operates in varying weather conditions, but may be cancelled for safety or operational reasons.
• If we cancel the activity, a full refund will be provided.

Pick-up Timing

• Pick-ups begin 10–60 minutes before the scheduled starting time.
• Your exact pick-up time will be confirmed by email or phone.

Cancellation Policy

• More than seven days and up to 365 days before the activity: a cancellation fee of 10% applies.
• More than one day and up to seven days before the activity: a cancellation fee of 50% applies.
• One day or less before the activity: a cancellation fee of 100% applies.
